It is Time to Fulfill the Covenant!

In the noise of our daily grind—the relentless pursuit of career milestones, the expansion of businesses, and the management of household finances—it is incredibly easy to develop a form of "spiritual amnesia." Some begin to believe that their success is the direct and sole result of our own cleverness.
But the Word of God brings us back to a grounding reality today. It isn't a suggestion; it is a command: “Remember the Lord your God!” (Deuteronomy 8:18).
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. Deuteronomy 8:18
We are called to shift our focus away from the "tools" of our success and look toward the Source.
1. The Divine Source of Capability
Ang Katakos Gikan sa Dios
When we talk about our skills, we often use the Cebuano word katakos. It refers to a mix of competence, capability, and potential. In the secular world, we call this "talent" or "hustle." However, in the Kingdom of God, katakos is something much deeper.
It is Grace, not just Talent: You might be a gifted speaker, a shrewd negotiator, or a tireless worker, but those traits are not self-generated. They are gifts of grace.
Supernatural Empowerment: The ability you have to wake up and perform your duties is a form of supernatural empowerment.
God gives us specific "capacities" for a reason:
The capacity for business: To generate resources.
The capacity for leadership: To guide and protect others.
The capacity for service: To labor with excellence.
The capacity for stewardship: To manage what has been entrusted to us.
Ngano man? Why does He give us these things? Not so we can build monuments to our own names, but "to fulfill His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
2. Understanding the Covenant Chain
Ang Katuyoan sa Panalangin
The blessing you carry is not a dead end; it is for another reason. We see this clearly in the "Covenant Chain" that stretches from the Old Testament to our lives today:
The Promise to Abraham: In Genesis 12:2-3, God promised to make Abraham a great nation.
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:2-3
This is the blueprint of divine favor: we are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others.
The Connection through Christ: You might ask, "I am not a physical descendant of Abraham, so how does this apply to me?" Galatians 3:29 gives us the answer: "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Because of Jesus, the ancient promises of God are active in your bank account, your workplace, and your family today. The blessing is not the goal; the blessing is the result of being in a covenant relationship with the Creator.
3. The Purpose: Not for Pride, but for Promise
Dili para sa Garbo, kondili para sa Katumanan
The greatest danger of prosperity is pride. When the bank account is full, people tend to say, "My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth."
But the Bible warns us that our katakos is for the fulfillment of His Word.
God wants to prove His faithfulness through your life.
He wants to use your resources to fund the Gospel.
He wants to use your influence to bring justice to the oppressed.
Your success is a testimony that God keeps His promises. When people see you thrive, they shouldn't see a "self-made" person; they should see a "God-sustained" person.
4. Prophetic Declaration: Awaken the Dormant Gifts!
Pukawa ang mga Gasa!
There is a prophetic stirring happening right now. For some of you, there are "dormant gifts"—talents you’ve hidden away because of fear, failure, or exhaustion.
The Holy Spirit is reigniting the gifts that have been sleeping!
Today, acknowledge that your strength comes from Him.
Not your job.
Not your business.
Not your own physical strength.
But the Lord your God!
Family, let us return to the posture of gratitude. Every contract signed, every promotion received, and every meal on the table is a physical manifestation of a spiritual covenant.
Panahon na sa pagtuman sa kasabotan! It is time to align our lives with the purpose for which we were blessed. Use your gifts and always remember the One who gave them to you.
