Unsaon Paglambo sa Panahon sa Tinggutom?

The world seems to be on flames: rising prices, rumors of war, and national economic uncertainty looming ahead. However, we have an assurance, family. Our provision is in the Lord.

Adunay kagutom nga miabot sa dapit nga gipuy-an ni Isaac, gawas niadtong kagutom nga miabot sa panahon pa ni Abraham. Busa miadto si Isaac kang Abimelec nga hari sa mga Filistihanon sa Gerar. Nagpakita ang Ginoo kaniya ug miingon, “Ayaw pag-adto sa Ehipto; didto puyo sa dapit nga itudlo ko kanimo. Puyo lang una dinhi kay ubanan ko ikaw ug panalanginan. Ihatag ko kanimo ug sa imong mga kaliwat kining tibuok yuta. Tumanon ko ang akong gisaad sa imong amahan nga si Abraham." Nananom si Isaac niadtong dapita ug nakaani siya ug 100 ka pilo niadtong tuiga, tungod kay gipanalanginan siya sa Ginoo. Nagpadayon ang iyang pag-uswag hangtod nga naadunahan na siya pag-ayo. Genesis 26:1-3, 12-13 APD

So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. Exodus 23:25 NKJV

We see ourselves in a similar predicament with Isaac's days. There was a great famine in the land. There were no rains. There was no water for them and their animals to drink. There was no water to grow crops. Similar to our days, there was a crisis so impactful it affected multiple countries.

As the God who never forsakes his people, God gave Isaac instructions.

Puyo lang una dinhi kay ubanan ko ikaw ug panalanginan. Ihatag ko kanimo ug sa imong mga kaliwat kining tibuok yuta. Genesis 26:3

This is a practical tip. The most logical decision for everyone at Isaac's time is to go to Egypt where there was flowing water and stored crops. Nevertheless, the Lord instructed him specifically that he should not go there but to stay put. Today, if there is no necessary travel, it is also prudent to just stay put at home so as to not incur additional expense.

However, the reality of this instruction by God cuts deeper than a mere austerity measure. This instruction shows that the reason why he should stay put is the fact that blessing is not dependent upon work, government, or place. Blessing is not in Egypt because of their systems and resources. Rather, blessing is from God. This is God about to display the fulfillment of the covenant made by God to Abraham. Our God is a covenant-keeping God and He is about to make His faithfulness known.

In my life [Bishop Rey Paraguya], I first came to the Lord with financial lack. Better yet, I really had nothing. The bank took away my house and property as payment for my debts. I had to live back at my mother's house together with my wife and two young children. I was asking for money and rice pakcs from my sister. My future seemed blacker than asphalt and tar. However, my testimony is this: less than a year from when I came to the Lord, He has blessed me abundantly with a car, house, and a good future.

Isaac became prosperous. He was able to sow and reap a harvest. His livestock increased. Despite the lack evident in the countries surrounding him, he was thriving and prospering. But can you imagine if he hadn't obeyed the Lord's instructions? What if Isaac disobeyed and went down to Egypt instead? Surely, He wouldn't have met the blessings God has stored for him.

Therefore family, the key to prospering in times of hardship is to heed God's instructions. As we remain connected with Jesus Christ, we will really grow from glory to glory. He will fulfill His covenant.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

That's why family, acknowledge the Lord always. More so, acknowledge that the Lord is with you always. To acknowledge these is not just mere mouth exercise or declaration, it is evident in our actions. Our actions must reflect that we serve him. This includes making Prophetic Miracle Celebrations a priority every Sunday and serving Him in all ways possible.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

As we figure out this impending economic turbulence, this is our stand family JAOM Dunamis: let us obey God's instructions, remember His covenant, and stay connected in the right connection. We will remain unaffected. We will prosper even in times of hardship in Jesus' name.
