Revival of the Word of God

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:1–4, KJV)

Testimonies shared recently point to a sobering reality: many young people today are being destroyed by the enemy. At a young age, they already know how to commit terrible acts. If believers do not answer this call, no one else will. This is the reason for going back to the Word — because revival begins there. Revival is not a spectacle; it is the realignment of a person's life to God's plan, and once the Word takes root again, that realignment can happen even faster than expected.

Why do we always need to return to the Word of God?

I. The Word of God Is Not Just Information — It Is Spiritual Life

When Jesus stood in the wilderness, hungry after forty days and forty nights of fasting, He did not say, "Man shall live by information." He said, "Man shall live by every word that comes from the mouth of God." This distinction matters. The Word is not merely something to be studied or read as one would read a textbook. What sets the Word of God apart from every other word is that it gives life.

John 6:63 (Ang Pulong Dios) Ang Espiritu mao ang naghatag sa kinabuhi. Ang tawo dili makahimo niini. Ang akong gisulti kaninyo gikan sa Espiritu ug naghatag sa kinabuhi.

The Word of God should be the foundation of daily life. Each day should begin with the Word of God. When a day begins with the wrong word, there is no spiritual life — only stagnancy, which in time leads to death, or kamatayon sa adlaw. But when a day begins with the Word of God, that day carries life from its very first hour.

When the Word of God enters a person's spirit, it produces life. It removes stagnancy. It gives strength and power. The Word of God brings:

• Light when someone is confused.

• Strength when someone is weak.

• Direction when someone is lost.

• Faith when someone is afraid.

• Correction when someone is wrong.

• Hope when someone is discouraged.

• Wisdom when someone does not know what to do.

Psalm 119:105 (Ang Pulong Dios) Ang imong pulong sama sa suga nga naghatag ug kahayag sa akong agianan.

The Word of God does not merely tell a person where they have been. It shows them where they should walk.

II. The Word of God Is the First Defense Against the Attacks of Satan

The Lord Jesus Defeated the Enemy with the Word

Notice how Jesus responded to Satan in the wilderness. He did not argue. He did not negotiate. He did not depend on emotion. Every time, His answer was the same: "It is written…" Three times in Matthew 4, Jesus answered temptation with Scripture — and each time, what defeated the enemy was the Word of God.

This teaches something powerful: a spiritual battle cannot be consistently won with a fleshly weapon. The Word of God is needed to defeat the enemy — whether that enemy comes as the scorpion that stings and offends, the serpent that is pleasing yet deceiving (nindot apan makadaot), evil spirits, demons, devils, the messengers of Satan, or Satan himself.

When the enemy says, "There is no future," the answer is, "It is written." When the enemy whispers that someone is worthless, the ordinary response is to strive and prove otherwise — but the Christian instead throws that lie back at the enemy, standing on what has already been written and spoken. When the enemy insists that the lack is final, the Christian declares that God shall supply every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. No one can out-argue the devil with their own words. The devil can only be answered with the Word of God — and in that, victory is certain.

III. The Word of God Creates Faith

Romans 10:17 (Ang Pulong Dios) [17] Karon makaingon kita nga ang tawo motuo lang kang Cristo kon makadungog siya sa mensahe mahitungod kaniya. Ug kining mensahe madungog lang kon adunay magtudlo niini.

For those seeking stronger faith, the answer is not to search for stronger feelings but to return to the Word. Faith is not built primarily by emotion — it is built by hearing what God has said over a person's life.

• When God speaks, fear loses its authority.

• When God speaks, faith rises.

• When God speaks, hope returns.

• When God speaks, destiny becomes clear.

As such here are things that we need to do to stay in the Revival of the Word of God in our lives:

• Join your clustering fellowships. In these clustering fellowships, we are reminded of the sermon from last Sunday.

• Join a Power 7 Community. In a Power 7 community, there is support for you to grow in Christ.

• Doing your Devotional is also important. When I was teaching in Bible School, I would wake up students for daily morning devotional. Today, we have "Breaking the Day with Fire" (BDF). Did you know that our BDF is anointed? The BDF staff toil and wake up early morning — many sacrifice for it. Now, people anywhere can listen to God's word. Here, our pastors and ministers break down a chapter of God's word daily so that we can understand what we read in our bible.

  
  

Going back to the Word is not optional — it is the foundation of spiritual life, the first and surest defense against every attack of the enemy, and the very source from which faith is built. Where the Word of God is planted and declared, life triumphs over the deception of the enemy, for the deception of the enemy is not defeated by logic or emotion, but by the Word of God alone.
